Plywood sheathing down! OK, who wants to help place concrete?

What to do with little pieces of I-Joists?

Spot the architect.
The view from up here!

Our framer finished laying down the 2 layers of plywood on top of the floor joists. And the wall locations are placed down with a layer of 1/2" plywood and 2x4s, just like the main floor. We are now ready for the concrete topping of the upper floor! And it's going to be nice this weekend! I will need some helpers on Saturday. So, who's with me? Want some fresh air? Want to hang out with cool people who have only placed concrete once before? It's a brilliant time [just read my previous post!] Food and drink will be provided!

  1. I would so be there with you Shafraaz, but I am still really sick and don't want to commit to something I might not be able to follow through on. Doug is getting it all over again as well. That is awesome that you have the floor on and ready though! If I am well enough I will be there!

  2. Hi Shafraaz,

What to do with little pieces of I-Joists? I had a friend turn them into shelving brackets for garage and basement storage. On one side he attached a short piece of scrap 2x4 (for mounting to the wall) and the other side he cut at 45 degree angle. It wasn't the prettiest thing I'd seen, but it did the trick.

    Thanks for the great blog!
